Criminal labor law focuses on employers who violate labor law obligations as a result of globalization and competitive economic pressure.

If, for example, foreigners are employed illegally, wage tax is evaded, workers are illegally posted or hired out (§§ 23 AentG, §§ 15 ff. AÜG, 404 SGB III), this will result in criminal sanctions. In addition to these provisions, there are many other regulations.

A large part of the investigative work is carried out by the main customs offices. Since the slightest suspicion and anonymous criminal charges are often the cause of investigations, the risk of unjustified, or at least disproportionate, criminal prosecution is particularly great.
